Reports have confirmed that Nichole “Nikki” Coats was found dead in her Downtown L.A. apartment, which is the second model to be found in DTLA within in a week. She was 32 years old.
The young model’s mother spoke to local news station KTLA 5 about her daughter, saying, “This is senseless, and I want some answers because my daughter is gone. And it’s not fair. I want everybody to find out who did this to her. She shouldn’t be gone.”
The last time any of Nikki’s family members heard from her was September 8 when she was headed out on the town for a date.
After they didn’t hear from her, Nikki’s father and aunt went to her apartment to check on her two days later. Her aunt, May Stevens, said, “I couldn’t recognize her.”Stevens continued, “I believe it was murder, I really do. One of her legs was up in the air in a kicking position. That’s not somebody who just laid in their bed and died.”
Police are currently investigating her death, but have not revealed any leads or motives.
